accent employs only experienced Occupational Therapists who have sound working experience in a variety of treatment facilities including brain injury units, rehab units and paediatric centres.

Our Occupational Therapy services include:

Implementation and training in physical and cognitive adaptive strategies related to activities of daily living including:

• Functional mobility.
• Transfers.
• Personal hygiene/grooming.
• Feeding.
• Communication.
• Household management (shopping, cleaning, meal preparation, laundry).
• Training in task simplification and energy conservation techniques.
• Guidance, assistance and support to resume involvement in pre-injury or new leisure activities.
• Equipment prescription, organisation of the purchase of equipment, including training in it's use.
• Home modifications - up to level 3 (complex).
• Facilitating participation in activities to enhance physical functional ability.
• Training in the use of public transport.
• Carer training.
• Splinting.
• Wheelchair prescription.
• Assistance to develop or re-establish community access such as banking, shopping, interaction with government or community agencies and household service providers.
